William Scott is a singer, songwriter, producer from Detroit, MI who strives to continue the extraordinary musical legacy of his hometown. His music is a perfect combination of moving messages, soulful fusions of jazz, r&b, electronic, rock and theatricality. William Scott has worked with and written for major recording artists and some of the music industry's most respected producers. William has also scored music for independent films as well as achieved music placements in major motion pictures.
In 2006 William Scott released his debut album entitled "Who's Afraid of William Scott?" an independent release that confronted subjects like race relations, homophobia and the loss of culture and unity within the African American community, an album which continues to receive its well deserved accolade. In 2010 William Scott presents his newest, self produced creation, "Star/Light" which William describes as being much more than an album, it is an "audio movie".
This audio movie is filled with great soul churning vibes that will definitely put you in a mood, not to mention the splashes of color and dimension added to the album from it's edgy rock and pop tunes. If that isn't enough for you the final element of the project is it's gripping story told by William himself that takes you on an intergalactic journey throughout the album and gracefully connects the songs together with relevance and purpose.
Like his first album, this one will also make you sing a long, dance and even ponder your existence. The only difference is that by the end of "Star/Light" you might find out that you're less human and more alien than you ever imagined you could be.
